Good piece of kit
So pleased I bought this meter, providing you follow the instructions supplied, it is easy to use and does the job perfectly. I had never fitted a dish before but using this I had a perfect signal in no time at all. Very good value for the price paid. Waste of time
Got one of these and found it dosn't identify the satellite its pointed at so i soon realised just how many are up there. I phoned a satellite erector and he lined it up in 5 mins - perfect. £40. Threw the sat finder in the bin.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

simple to use
This is a very straightforward device which is powered by the satellite receiver via the coax cable. It has an analogue meter and a high pitched whistle for showing the strength of the signal and from this supplier comes with a short length of coax to go between the device and the LNB. To set up the dish, you need to know roughly the correct compass direction for the satellite, in my case Astra 2E (28.2 E) and have the dish adjustable in all planes to start with. This is only device allowed quickly align my dish.
I was looking into re-aligning my dish. I used multiple apps for several weeks and could not do it. Looked into professionals for quote for just re-aligning and quotes started from £60+VAT. a very useful piece of equipment at a modest price.
When you've got to replace the LNB on your satellite dish and the alignment on yours looks to be slightly different to your neighbours, then this is the piece of equipment you need. Picks up its power from the satellite recorder, so no batteries needed ( or to go flat between uses.) Clear instructions provided. And this one comes with a sufficiently long extension cable that the meter is held clear of the dish when using (so no distortion of the signal.) Used in conjunction with a good compass, which I already had, at least I know I'm pointing in the correct direction, and, according to the satellite recorder, I now have 100% signal strength and quality on all 4 channels. Brilliant for DIY
I had my doubts about how effective this product would be given its low cost - but I found this signal finder very easy to use even when balancing at the top of a ladder. Once I got the signal finder connected up in-line the search process took about 5 minutes to complete. I got my TV satellite dish set-up at the first attempt by following the instructions provided.
