This book is very well written, with very tasty recipes and including cultural information and short stories. It gives you the pronunciation of words that are unfamiliar; the pictures are fabulous and the book, in all, is very interesting to read, so much so that I bought a second one for my son as a Christmas present, and I've talked about it a lot with my friends and family. .There is a section at the back of the book that lists essential ingredients you'll need to make the recipes, and it explains how to make your own, more unusual ones, from scratch. I highly recommend this book!

The book is quite expensive, or so I thought, until it arrived. It is absolutely brimming with excellent photos of all the wonderful dishes one can create. There is a wonderful culinary history of all the dishes included. This is definitely the best cookbook I have purchased, and I can't wait to get cooking!

This is much more than a cookery book. The recipes look amazing and there are plenty of them to whet the appetite, however, the peek into Persian culture is just fascinating and for me, offers a more rounded understanding of what I am doing to prepare the food and the significance. I don't need or want that will all my meals of course, that could be most irritating but there are times when that extra insight just makes something taste even better! I can't think of any other books on Persian cuisine and those that probably do exist, would be hard pressed to beat this one. It's a bit pricey but worth the extra money. It's a big book so there is a sense of value there despite the price tag.
