I find that Micheal Thomas's methods work well for English speaking adults learning other languages.
Early days but I believe that this CD will enable me to quickly 'get a handle' on the Spanish language quickly. I am a native English speaker and I can speak fairly good French. I have used Micheal Thomas CDs over a number of years to help me with the development of my French. Some criticise his methods by saying that he explains everything in English. For me that is the point. If one moves to a new country then "Immersion" is undoubtedly the best way to learn quickly. Personally as an adult learning another language and based in England, I need explanations to help me to remember 'how the language works'. LIke MIchel Thomas. Didn't hook up with his Spanish.
Having done similar French course with MIchel Thomas I thought this would be a similar learning process. For me it is not as easy to understand. I understand that Michel Thomas is Swiss and I guess his mother tongue is German. I can't quite hook up with his accent in Spanish although Idid far better in French, although I do have basic French skills. So for me I will be looking for other Spanish lessons.
