As i mentioned in a past review, i actually purchased 4 of these & i purchased an i7 2.66Ghz single core..it's really not MUCH to say about these that i haven't said in my past review, but the ONE thing that i will say is that everyone and anyone that's into media needs one of these computers..i've had so much fun with these..it's ironic because at ONE point i hated Macs & everything for what they stood..(laughing)..now i love them..we just need Safari (Mac's factory web browser) to include Cast To Device like Microsoft Edge..LOL..anyhows..these computers are great investment..(thinking)..rather WOULD'VE been great investments 2-3 years ago..they take the newest OS from Mac (Sierra)..you can max them out to 8GBs..put SSDs in them..& you'll have a PowerHouse..LOL..the ONLY flaws in these is that 1) no HDMI..you can only use the Mini-DVI port..& this means NO AUDIO unless you use a stero jack..& 2) (which is the OS's issue) no media casting from the browser.. i think in all, this is an "easy to use" computer (like ALL Macs are)..& it comes out of the box very fast, very hard working, & "eager to please"..LOL..thank you all as always..Peace..& God bless.. The MacBook Pro I purchased was a late 2011 model about 3 or 4 months old. I purchased it for a great price and it was in excellent condition. I had been looking to replace an earlier model for a few months and this item was the one I was waiting for. I like the portability and battery life on this MBP. The performance and other included features really made this item the perfect choice. Of course the Apple brand and customer service were other reasons this MacBook Pro was definitely worth the purchasing price. The only thing I was disappointed about was that this item had a glossy screen and not a matte screen. In my field the ease of use and software availability make this portable mac a valuable asset to production. Not having to deal with security update, malware and virus protection, keeps the machine useable longer.Read full review
I've had this laptop for some weeks now, and I've tested its capabilities with programs here and there. It works really well with the programs it comes with (I haven't really tried downloading anything to it yet besides dropbox) and the screen rarely freezes up on me when it gets warm from a lot of use. I've used it for hours on end and it works great all the way through! The warming seems to happen often, and I'm not sure if that's normal or not (this is the first macbook I've owned/used), but I'm fine with it. The charger it came with was a bit more than used though. There was a crack on the converter (?) from thick cord to thin cord and part of the thin cord had been repaired with electrical tape, and I've had to repair a break in the thin cord myself since I've used it. It still works fine, but I know that charger cords don't usually last long after they break initially. Not even considering the low price, it's a great computer! I'm excited to get the full use out of it once I learn my way around the programs :)Read full review

The laptop runs good, great condition and there weren't any technical errors wrong with it. My main issues I've had so far would be battery life and somewhat frequent laggy performance. I use a lot of the Adobe collection and Office collection which takes up a considerable amount of space but 8 GB and a 2.6 GHZ processor should be able to handle the little tedious work I was throwing at it however there were times where the laptop just lagged out and wouldn't stop loading nothingness. It seems the system was putting all its processing power towards some task in the background which totally destroys the performance when it happens. Other than those issues I've had a great experience working on the macbook pro.
This was a short lived model with an I5 processor. The I5 is the midway processor between the I3 and the I7. It offers speed and is modern enough that it should be useful for many years. Before it, I had an earlier (2005) version with a G4 Power PC chip. As the operating system became more complex, the computer took longer to load and the battery power did not hold the charge very long. The 15" screen is not too small and not too big. Powerbook Pros have a Firewire port, making transferring the contents of the old computer to the new quick and easy. In short, it seems to offer the most modern chip set with a discount for not being made any more.
