The Manfrotto 161MK2B is fully capable of a 44# load, nearly twice any other Manfrotto product, It has massive tube diameters and independently adjustable spreader arms. Built in Spirit Level and self-locking 10" elevator column. It DOES NOT HAVE retracting leg spikes. No tripod has retracting leg spikes. It does have retracting rubber tips which expose the spikes. (Why does every tripod manufacturer get this wrong???) Total height is over 100"!!! You will need a ladder at that height. Heavy @ 19# but Best in the world.

not sure how to reveiw this iteam i bought if for my girlfriend who runs a photography studio in swansea , and we didnt realise the full size of this tripod . its awesome and solid 2.5 meters full reach , but not quite what we needed for a studio tripod , so have cut it down so its now 7 inches down and 5 ft up and very solid . so just the job for what we needed . a bespoke tripod but the fact is its a well made and solid bit of kit . quite heavy but thats why its solid
