ReviewsWall Street Journal - In Woody Allen's beguiling and then bedazzling new comedy, nostalgia isn't at all what it used to be - it's smarter, sweeter, fizzier and ever so much funnier., New York Magazine - This supernatural comedy isn't just Allen's best film in more than a decade; it's the only one that manages to rise above its tidy parable structure and be easy, graceful, and glancingly funny, as if buoyed by its befuddled hero's enchantment., San Francisco Chronicle - A movie that's loving and wistful and often hysterically funny., Movieline - The best Allen movie in 10 years, or maybe even close to 20 - is all about that idea: Reckoning with the past as a real place, but also worrying about the limits of nostalgia., New Orleans Times-Picayune - A lovely jaunt that ends up becoming one of Allen's most enjoyable films, start-to-finish, in years., New York Observer - In a film so ripe with temptations for posturing, exaggeration and satirical overacting, nobody is anything less than natural, unpretentious and funny as hell., Boxoffice Magazine - Woody Allen's time-travelling comedy MIDNIGHT IN PARIS is a valentine to Paris and an absolute delight., New York Times - It is marvelously romantic, even though - or precisely because - it acknowledges the disappointment that shadows every genuine expression of romanticism.

Additional InformationOwen Wilson, Marion Cotillard, Rachel McAdams, Kathy Bates, and Carla Bruni star in Woody Allen's romantic comedy about a family on a business trip in the City of Light. As a young couple engaged to be married experiences a profound transformation during their visit to Paris, an idealistic man with a romanticized view of the city finds that there's plenty of truth to that old adage about the grass being greener on the other side. Michael Sheen, Mimi Kennedy, and Kurt Fuller co-star.

If you're only starting to watch, Woody Allen films like myself. Then Midnight in Paris, is a great choice. Its such a entertaining fun movie, with mixture of everything. For everyone to enjoy romance, humour and seeing how glorious Paris. Is back in time, this has it all . To keep you entertained intrigued from start to finish. So deserves to be, in your dvd, bluray collection. Two thumbs up for me, a joy to watch.

  • golden age thinking

this is a film for those golden age thinkers that believe they come from a different time or that another era would suit them better. in this film they go back to the 1920s and the 1880s to meet famous figures within the art world such as Toulouse Lautrec, Picasso and Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald with many more. being a golden age thinker myself it would have been the 1880s onwards that I would have lived given half the chance. to top it off the casting of Owen Wilson was a great move as he has that off the cuff attitude that helps the film flow easily. a magical treat with a glass of wine to enjoy the beautiful era that this film conveys. marvellous.

  • Midnight in Paris

What a piece of film art. Cinematography is beautiful. Characters and costumes were a great ‘step back in time’ look into 1930’s Paris. Overall it’s a very enjoyable love story assisted with a bit of magic as the main character dips in and out of Parisian life in the 30’s as he encounters the great artistic figures of the day, in both literacy and art. But the love story is more about one man’s love of Paris, even more so in the rain. Once it was finished I was lead to investigate most of these ‘real-life’ characters and their relationship with this beautiful city. Owen Wilson does a fine display. A Woody Allen masterpiece.

  • Midnight in Paris

A quirky and engaging film showing Paris and some it’s famous inhabitants as we step back and fore in time. The present day is not quite so comfortable for our American hero. Has all the great hallmarks of a Woody Allen film. Highly enjoyable

  • Inspiring. A great movie.

Anyone who aspires to a dream and is held back by pre-conceived ideas of others, and the need to shed themselves of those constraints in order to fulfill their dreams will like this movie. Any aspiring author will associate with Owen Wilson's character, I think. The need for inspiration, the final validation of their works before going for publishing. My only disappointment was it failed to include James Joyce, Ezra Pound or the absolutely incredible Sylvia Beach. But aside from that, I highly recommend it.
