  • Amazing clarity, sharpnes and depth of image. Easily rivals a pro lens !!

Excellent value for money as I bought this as an used lens. Was very impressed with the condition of the lens and could not tell that it had been used. Being a prime lens it has a 'fixed' view with the lens moving in and out to provide the auto focus function. The only one downside is that it can be a bit noisy, but it is fairly quick to focus in good to medium light conditions. In low light conditions it does struggle to auto focus but this can be easily overcome by manually focussing on your subject. Excellent sharpness and clarity of image with no distortion or vignetting at the edges. Amazing depth of images with those dreamy like portraits with blurred backgrounds and bokeh. Having used zoom lenses for ages I am now having to get used to moving closer or away from the subject again, excellent fun as it takes me back to my early days of using 35mm film and my trusty Yashica Electro. Easily rivals a pro lens, would recommend this as an essential in your kit, useful as your everyday lens, light and small so that it reduces the size of your camera making it much less cumbersome to carry around on holiday.

  • A very versatile and useful lens for closeups AND general use (e.g. portraits)

This is a very simple and versatile lens (its design reminds me of a pinhole camera) but because of that it is great for close ups (eg flowers, insects) providing the subject isn't moving too much and you must take into account that it needs enough light but has an aperture no wider than f3.5. Also you can take general pictures too of people, even landscapes. It isn't a zoom but that's not problem. I have many other Zuiko lenses I can turn to if needed..... It seems sharp and provides very good results on an Olympus e-620 camera which has a 12.3mp sensor. In 2017 I paid just over £50 for my Zuiko 35mm f3.5 (it had been very lightly used, like new basically). Well worth it at that price. I am a big fan of the Olympus four thirds system (I think the slight size benefits of the micro four thirds system and more recent systems is all very overrated, more a marketing ply to create new products, product lines, leads to product redundancy.... and bargains for savvy people like me who tend to but the previous generation technology that is proven etc.). In my view, I use the last of the 'proper' Olympus Digital SLRs with mirror technology, an e-620 12.3mp sensor. I am not interested in the latest all digital mirror-less systems, It is not the same photographer experience. I used to use the OM film cameras some years ago.I still have some OM1, 2 and 10 bodies...... which probably explains my reasoning.

  • Olympus 35mm Macro lens.

Nice lens, compact, sharp to the edges with no aberrations. The usual high Quality one expects from Olympus.

  • Macro and general purpose lens

A beautiful little lens, sits nicely on an Olympus 4/3 dslr. It gives a good sharp image in macro mode, but also does well as a general purpose walk-about prime lens, reducing the need for switching lenses. Thoroughly recommended for anyone using the original (NOT micro) 4/3 format.
