The Sony Handycam CCD-TR33 was one of the most popular Sony video camera products when it was first introduced. This comfortable and lightweight black Hi8 camcorder comes with a heavy-duty hand strap that allows use of the camcorder for video shoots that are of both short and long duration. Included in this camcorder is a 12X zoom that brings sporting events and theater performances up close and the Super SteadyCam algorithm helps remove camera shakes from the final image. Sony's full color viewfinder enables the user to position the camera to reduce both eye and arm fatigue. Video output can be piped to a TV or other display using the included AV cables. A charge coupled device photo sensor gives the Sony Handycam CCD-TR33 clean and crisp colors even in low-light levels. The internal microphone on this Hi8 camcorder, with sensor mounted just above the lens, is sensitive enough to pick up most sounds during recording. For those situations where the subject is in front of a light source such as on the ski slopes, there is a handy "Back Light" switch which automatically compensates for this lighting condition. The Sony Handycam CCD-TR33 is also fully programmable, with functions such as delayed recording, time and date stamp, and elapsed time. I have not gotten it to work yet. Still working on it.
I have taken it to a camera shop but no one works on them anymore and the batteries are not replaceable thru Batteries + because they discontinued them since 2015. It looked like it was in great condition and was. It didn't have the batteries or any parts but I had all of those because mine was stolen years ago. Now I want to transfer tapes but needed a camera to do that. This is the 2nd one I have bought but the 1st one was damaged. The only thing I see wrong with this is that the tape compartment will not open. I am getting an error message that it has moisture damage but I see none and have practically taken the whole thing apart.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
