This is an excellent, basic phone for making calls, very easy to use. The speakerphone feature is loud and clear. Battery life is excellent. Phone is small and compact. Distinctive rings can be assigned to specific numbers. Phone stores hundreds of numbers. Camera is very basic but useful in an emergency, though Verizon charges to send photos. One can buy a cord to download them from the phone. I can't rate Internet ability because I never used that feature, though I feel that is best left for smartphones. It can be used for texting as well, though the keypad makes that impractical as one must hit the same key 1, 2, or 3 times to enter a specific letter and 4 times for a number. I bought this phone to replace the identical one, which went through the wash cycle. Needless to say, no phone is likely to work after going through the washing machine, though until that happened, the phone had survived being dropped in wet snow, and a brief dip in the swimming pool. The original lasted for at least 5 years of hard use, and I expect the same of the replacement. If you're looking for simple, reliable, durable, inexpensive and compact, this is it. As this is an old model, it is unlikely to find one that's new without paying a premium for it, but used ones in good condition seem to be plentiful as of mid 2016.Read full review

I am not a power user by any means. I'm not interested in web surfing, emails, music or videos on my phone; but it's nice to know I can when I need to. I really wanted a basic, quality, flip phone and this one is solid, stylish, and pretty easy to use. The display is much sharper than my old Katana. I love that I can see the date and time clearly on the front without having to put on my reading glasses. I love being able to adjust the size of text in the display. The voice quality and speaker are good. Exceptions: The rubberized keys aren't the easiest to press; sometimes I wind up using my finger nails. I am a little concerned though that a couple of times the phone did not ring when a call came in. It did ring to notify me of voice mail. I hope that will not be a frequent occurrence. I chose Verizon's $50 unlimited, prepaid plan and saved over $100 on this phone buying it on Ebay instead of from Verizon. I think Verizon has now lowered its price.Read full review
UPDATE (Jan 2017): I wrote the original review below in 2011. I loved it then and I still LOVE it. I can't imagine any cellphone being so reliable and durable. I'm amazed that I haven't changed the battery and it still lasts weeks before needing a charge. Original review (Nov 2011): I bought this phone to replace a Samsung I got when I started Verizon Pre-Pay service a couple years ago. This LG beats the Samsung in every way. I especially like the longer battery life. It is also good that pressing any outside buttons while phone is closed does not impact the phone at all. I can open this LG with gloves on; whereas I couldn't open the Samsung even with bare hands without much trouble. One note, I did not get the $10 free air time, probably because I did not sign up as a new customer, but merely changed phones.Read full review

Probably One of the Best Basic Phones You Can Get on Verizon This will reign as my favorite Verizon fliphone ever used. I ended up getting four of them - two Revere Is and two Revere IIs. Phone is very durable, well-designed, and has many handy little features for those of us that still enjoy using basic phones, or for me, who uses this phone for work. Pros! Cute. Very cute. Phone holds a charge for days and days, unless you are talking on it for several hours. Then it will last two days between charges. Very intuitive Bluetooth interface. It tethers to my MacBook Pro with no problems as all, and can even be used as a wireless hotspot of you want to pay the $15 fee Verizon adds to your bill afterwards... An added bonus, if you go into the "tunes and tones" menu, and then go into "my sounds," you can use any MP3 files that you sent over via bluetooth as real music ringtones. Currently rocking DMX as an optional ringtone, which is fun. Speakers are surprisingly loud and decent - not that I'm gonna be holding out my fliphone on the street and dancing along to it, but I suppose I could. Nice keypad layout. No weird keys in weird places. Large keys with nice spacing. You can also reprogram the shortcut keys so that you aren't constantly connecting to Vcast (does anyone even use that anymore??)when you hit the right directional key. Reception is great. Call quality is great. Phone is good at being a phone. Cons! Texting is annoying on this phone. The T9 isn't the most intuitive, and comes up with some interesting choices for words. I usually just do key-by-key typing, since the T9 on this phone I kinda shirty. Doesn't have "silent" "normal" or "meeting" profiles like Nokias. If you get the Revere I, the shiny black front will get all kinds of scratched and messed up within your first week of ownership. It's a high-gloss finish, while equals a high-scratch finish. Get a case or a cover for it. The Revere II is matte, however, so there is no scratching issue. Other than that... can't think of any other cons! It is a really great phone for simplicity and functionality. Durability, good-looking, and has a lot of fun features like bluetooth and multimedia messaging. Totally recommend.Read full review
The phone arrived very promptly in good condition, just as described. It replaced another of the same model which had the screen broken. I replaced the charger cover with 1 from the old and this one was good to go, functioning as expected. I downloaded a better ring tone for my needs.

For calling the Revere is great basic little phone. Durable and a size just big enough to be handled-pinched between ear and shoulder; small enough to pocket easily. Easy enough message recalling for voice. Texting is OK if you are comfortable with the T9 [abc, efg.} keyboard, multi-pressing. I almost never used the online capabilities with its, approx., 1 inch square screen. Navigation seems impossibly microscopic. The rest of the phone is a spot on, basic phone.
This phone forsure is my second fav phone. lg always seems to have really good phones through verizon. I deffenetly got my moneys wurth. battery life is amazing easy to use u can change font size and style you can really custamize on this phone witch is somethig i like to do.camra is actualy not that bad.there is nothing i dislike about this product.
The unit I bought was not used but definitely old and worn (from scuffing in the package?). But it works well. Good reception. Typical flip phone interface. Activated on PagePlus with no issues. Hard to beat for under $20.
