Not as Good as E.V. Rieu
Nice layout on the page- verse style. Room to make notes in margin. There is a brief commentary in the back on each book of the Iliad. I bought this version because I saw cheap copy of Postlethwaite's extensive commentary on Lattimore's Iliad (£4. in a 2nd hand bookshop) then this book cost £11.50. I dug out an old tatty copy of E.V. Rieu's version in Penguin Classics. Coincidentally, published one year before Lattimore. I think Rieu's is more readable, though less luxurious in quality of paper and layout of the type. However more compact. And I just looked at Amazon and there are plenty of 2nd hand copies for 1p. Please note, Ebay, that this book here I got cheaper from you than I could on Amazon.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
