I am old enough to have lived through the Golden Era of television and to have followed Morecambe and Wise with delight, both on television and going to live performances. I read this book with some trepidation as I do find most biographies of the duo a little biased, depending on who is writing the book. I exclude Graham Mcann's wonderful biography of the pair from that criticism. This book, obviously, leans a little more towards Ernie but that is no bad thing and in fact I was surprised to learn quite a few things about the relationship between them which I hadn't understood before. I still feel that inevitably contributions from close family of either comedian tend to be slanted in one direction. Nevertheless, I have enjoyed this book and would recommend it to serious fans.
