About this product

Product Information

A family of field mice work day and night, gathering provisions for the coming winter. As they busily collect and store wheat, nuts and corn, they reproach Frederick for dreaming the lazy summer away. But during the long cold winter, when all their stores have been used up, Frederick proves to his friends that he has done his share. 'A mouse who is a poet from the tip of his nose to the end of his tail demonstrates that a seemingly purposeless life is indeed far from that' ERIC CARLE 'Beloved [Frederick] is about so much more than seasonality. It raises enormously relevant questions to life during a pandemic' PUBLISHERS WEEKLY

  • Wonderful story essential for all stages of childhood developement.

This is a lovely way to begin to tell youngsters about love, acceptance, selflessness, charity and forgiveness. All under the shadow of adversity. I first bought this for my eldest son in 1968 when he was 2 years old. we read it many many times and we both loved it. it went down to the other 3 in succession. I still have that original hardback with me now.. I recently Purchased this one for his daughter for him to read to her when she gets a little older. and now i hope her brother due in spring will also get to enjoy it in time. I think it has important lessons to learn every time it's read to a growing child as their comprehension and understanding grows.
