It really was a brand-new 3rd generation iPad: the box was still shrink-wrapped, and when I booted it up, it was running IOS5 (That was a shock - I'd never seen that front screen before). It needed 2 upgrades - I couldn't take it straight to IOS9.3: I had to upgrade it to 8.4 first, so it took a fair while. It's brilliant now, though. All right, it's not the latest model, but given the spec, and the fact it was new and unused, I reckon it represents extremely good value for money at the price I paid.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
