This title contains some fab and informative travel writing. The piece Seeing Red, alone is worth the price of the book for its depiction of tomato festival delirium and mayhem. You'll want to be there drenched in red and throwing tomatoes after you read it. Spanish festivals can be cathartic. Not all the pieces are superb, nor are all travelers. But as someone who has been to Spain and is headed back, this book has been keeping my love for it alive while hunkered down in an old and rundown US metropolis that hasn't anything to compare with the spirit of fun and banishment for ogres found in the festivals of Spain. This book can also make it clear which areas a traveler might want to avoid or spend more time in; there are plenty of lesser traveled spots highlighted here, too. Want a peek into the Spanish psyche before you go? Get it here.
