If you wish to learn more about the author Dazai Osamu and understand the effect his life experiences may have had upon his writing then this is a must buy. The book also has a number of translations of Dazai’s works which I can imagine that for those who cannot read Japanese these translations provide them with a rare opportunity to read Dazai - seeing as very few of his works have been translated. Overall an excellent book and profoundly interesting.
