Based on a 1924 mystery novel by Agatha Christie, THE MAN IN THE BROWN SUIT was the eighth of Warner Bros. Television's Christie-inspired TV movies. Stephanie Zimbalist stars as an American tourist in Cairo (with Spain standing in for Egypt). She runs across a mysterious murder, and an odd encounter with a stranger; all this occurs even before she sets foot on a luxury liner with an all-suspect passenger manifest. It is established that the murderer, who is after a cache of valuable diamonds, is an internationally notorious criminal--but which one of the passengers is he (or she)? Maybe the villain romantic lead Simon Dutton, the "man in the brown suit" of the title...but don't discount such special guest suspects as Rue McClanahan and Tony Randall.

    one of my favorites

    It's always been one of my favorites. I love how Anne is looking for adventure & maybe find a man who will get her motor running. I just love how she & her new friend, Suzie, that she meets on the ship begin to piece together all the different things that have happened. When they find the diamonds they get a little worried but niether is ready to give up yet. It is a great little movie that has everything Anne was looking for in it. I love it.

    Rounds out my collection, but bit high-priced

    Worthwhile just to add to Christie collection & I love Stephanie Zimbalist. That being said..plot-wise this was made during a time period when Hollywood & other film makers destroyed a plot in order to bring f a storyline into current time of filming. So basically the plot line and great considerations are lost. Now it’s 2021 & in last 10 years Hollywood has ruined many classic stories (prime ex: The Hobbit) by trying to add characters & increase dialogue of minor characters SOLELY for “updating” which always hurts the storyline of a timeless classic.
