Love it
This kit is great. The IR lens filter is controllable via internal gpio pin 32 (the pi camera led pin), so no external link to gpio pin is required in reality. My only wish was that the IR lights could be pin controlled as well, rather than fully automated via on their own (adjustable) light resistor, although this can be overcome. Don't expect the longest reach in terms of illumination, but they have otherwise proven effective for my needs. Image quality is perfectly acceptable and for building a cam this is a very useful addition if you don't need the highest resolution of the latest pi camera module, as most people don't.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Reliable
I have been running this camera ever since I got it configured, 24/7, and I have not experienced a single issue. You will basically need to solder a wire to the IR-CUT from a GPIO pin, i tried controlling it with the LED camera LED option but it is very flakey so just dedicate a GPIO pin for the IR-CUT and save yourself hours of troubleshooting. Also the photoresistors on the IR LEDs are not very customizable with the potentiometer, but that really imposes no real issues. I suggest getting some RAM heatsinks to put behind the IR LEDs as they do tend to get fairly hot.
