turns my crank
I upgraded my octalink, SLX level crankset and am very happy with the outcome. First off, the hollowtech II is an easier install/remove procedure because the cups are exterior of the shell and easily engaged with the intended removal tool. Also, no need for a crank puller. If you purchase one that includes the bottom bracket, everything you need is included for 68mm or 73mm shells. Though the supplied instructions show different sized spacers, the kit comes with 3, 2.5mm spacers included. This is all you need. For 68mm; use 1 on the drive side and no spacer on the non-drive side. For 73mm; 2 spacers drive side and 1 on the non-drive side.

Just had this installed a few days ago and, wow, it performs as nice as it looks, if not better. Now with my XT cassette, XT chain, XT levers/shifters, and XT front derailer, with XTR rear derailer, my mountain bike is beast!
