  • "Sometimes it's better to wait for next year's model!"

"I have last year's version which has a 'switch' and kind of needs more effort to deploy than this year's 'button'."

  • Single action

Knife is single action and very awkward to open. Seems of decent quality, just not well designed. I will be tossing in the glovebox for a rainy day and ordering a dual action knife.

  • Fast action, but clumsy

This knife is better than i expected since it is a heavier-duty knife than i thought it was. You can feel that just picking it up. The release action is very fast; retraction is manual. I thought the knife might fit in a sheath i intended to carry it in, but it was both too long and thick to fit. Knife is made in Taiwan, which wasn't clearly stated, but that's better quality than you see in most "foreign" knives. I found the knife clumsy in holding the knife in a traditional grip. Operation of the blade deployment is at the butt-end of the knife. It requires two hands, which pretty much defeats the "auto" aspect. If held back-hand and if you watch the placement of fingers it functions as more of a true auto. Retracting the blade is easier, but still a bit tricky until one gets the hang of it. I'd say it IS a good value for the money and the Schrade name is on it, but i wouldn't recommend it to those i hope would remain friends!

  • Good for some.

Single action is fine for some but this can be a bit awkward to deploy. Nice knife but most need two hands to put the blade back.

  • Schrader 3b

Difficult to operate with the rear trigger otherwise it is a very solid piece.

  • Better options out there

This thing is clumsy to deploy and spring is weak, about 1/3 to 1/2 what it should be. Very disappointed. Now the submit button for this review is graded out and does not work either.
