This affordable tester will help you decide whether to replace your car/caravan/boat battery
This clever tester measures the "conductance" of your battery using a low frequency alternating current and then displays the result in terms of CCA (Cold Cranking Amps), which are a measure of the ability of the battery to supply enough current to start your engine on a cold day. This method of testing batteries is arguably one of the most convenient and safest ways to decide whether a car battery needs replacing. This particular tester will give adequate results for car batteries despite being much cheaper than the industry standard tester used by many garages. It can also be used to indicate whether leisure batteries and marine batteries have significant problems such as faulty cells or bad sulphation. Good points: affordable, small and lightweight; very easy to use, can test battery "in situ"; powered by the battery being tested. Limitations: Doesn't indicate actual conductance value (converts it to CCA); only works on 6v and 12v lead acid batteries (although it appears to have a 24v mode); results require careful interpretation when testing leisure and marine batteries.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
