This is our second replacement in 4 years. The part is a genuine Smeg part, it just seems they are a consumable item. As it's the price of a pack of dishwasher tablets, it's not so bad. It makes the dishwasher clean like new again. These arms wear the bearing surface out over time, causing the arm to flop about, striking things on the lower rack and not cleaning properly, this replacement is a total cure.
