Reusable filter seems like a good idea
Haven't used these long enough to note any problems, but the deal I got on two made it a no-brainer to at least try them out. The company that installed our new furnace and air conditioner said a MERV 8 filter is a MERV 8 filter; the key is to change them often enough so the built-up dust doesn't reduce air flow. If I were to change a cheap paper filter once a month, these will pay for themselves in just 7 months. I got two so I can take one out to clean and put the other right in, and the clean one will have a month to dry before I put it back in service. Saves money, saves natural resources, reduces solid waste, gives me the option of swapping the filter more frequently. I think these are an all-around win. The other thing I'm trying is only using two of the four locking tabs. That way the frame is in two parts so it is easy to separate and clean the filter insides, yet there is no risk of part of the frame getting stuck in the filter slot. Following the lead of the installers, I put a tape tab on the frame so it's easier to pull out of the filter slot, too.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Not east to adjust size
It had to be cut to order and I found that to be very difficult for someone 86 yrs old. The foam seemed to be old and coming apart but I used filter anyway, but I doubt it will last as long as the one we last puchased.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

They work
I have dogs they bring a huge amount of dust into my house replacing filters every few weeks was not working for me. I have had one for two years i washed it and reused it probably 50 times before i felt like i needed to replace it. It probably could have lasted longer.
