Sturdy and Light
If your looking for bookcase that is sturdy and looks good then this is a good buy, its solid pine Corona look adds a subtle vintage colour to the wood. It would compliment any room and match well with existing Corona furniture. It is relatively easy to put together but its worth not rushing to ensure the pieces of wood line up well. It is a good size and the height and would fit many spaces. On average its just a litter bit shorter then the length of a wide bookcase. Are there any drawbacks, well as ever the instructions could still be improved. the would pieces should all have number or letters on them that match any instructions, rather then leave it up to just images on the instructions. There could also be more pre drilled holes to make placing the screws far easier. Some pieces of pine are quite thick and the screws provided were sometimes to large to easily screw in place. That could all be avoided if the companies producing this furniture did a bit more drilling. You do need a large long star screw driver for this job, and its best not to use something cheap. You would also benefit from a soft rubber mallet. Overall, this bookcase is worth the money and it will last for many years after it has been put together. What I like about Corona items is how solid and strong they are. It is real pine and its never chipboard and its afordable.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Difficult to assemble because part do not fit . Screws can cause wood to split in places- poor quality wood. Some knowledge of DIY is valuable because resizeing parts is really needed to fit parts properly. For instance the shelves were all 1/16 too wide which stopped them from fitting inside the bookcase so they had to be cut down by 1/16 of an inches IE 2-3mm . Finish quite poor, I will refinish this one. In short good for book storage in a garage , back room or basement not a living room. Might be ok in a study if your not fussed on appearance. Looks much better in the photos because of digital enhanced photos. Colour in photos is wrong - real colour is more greyish.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good value and looks good, but a few things to note.
I assembled this on my own which was OK, but two pairs of hands will be best - and also have a good flat surface to work on when you need to lie the unit down during assembly. I found that there were actually one or two extra screws, nails and shelving pins included. Also, one of the dowels was damaged but an extra one had been included by the packer. The assembly instructions do not list the need for glue which is sensible if you ever want to dis-assemble the unit. I won't and so used PVA glue for all dowels and for attaching several surfaces, including the back. One of the recommended tools is a soft mallet. This is essential - or use a wooden mallet and piece of scrap wood placed inbetween the head and the unit you are assembling. The assembly instructions are in the form of a sequence of diagrams and simple labels keyed into the contents list. These work very well. The end result certainly couldn't be described a high quality - but it's strong, looks pretty good and is very functional. As I used glue I did not need to use the four rather brutal-looking black covers as shown in the illustration. You can probably do without those anyway. The actual pieces in the flat-pack box were all cut very neatly and were packed exceptionally well. The only faults were with 2 of the 4 blocks which are used to link sides and front. these had been badly split (almost shattered). However, as I was using glue, I only used the two good blocks. The actual measurements for the final unit turned out to be as follows: Height --- 100.2cm Width across base ---- 80.5cm Depth ---- 29cm I hope all that is useful to you.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Sturdy and stylish

Corona Low Bookcase
Made from very durable timber. However, one may find that the screws provided may not be suitable. My friend and I had to improvise, using an electric screwdriver (the timber was very hard) and longer screws that she already had to hand. We also noticed that the piece for the back of the unit was not cut precisely. That was why I gave it four stars. Flat pack bookcase
First experience of flat pack furniture. I found the instruction pictures awkward to follow but after a day's hard work it was put together. Fabulous!
I ordered 3 of these book cases and they are of a really high standard. Unfortunately 2 pieces of wood, probably from the same log split with the screws on one unit, which is the joy of real wood I guess, but I have managed to keep it fairly hidden and cant be bothered returning the unit for replacement.
