Why spend a fortune? Perfectly good results using this affordable action cam.
Bought this camera without having great expectations because of low price. Very pleasantly surprised. I have to say that I don't have any experience of name brand cameras, because I can't justify spending more than £200 on an action cam. This GoXtreme Pioneer is a good package for taking videos whether clamped to the handlebars of my motorcycle or my mountain bike. I have also used it as a dashcam. Controls and settings seem easy to use. It comes complete with a good assortment of mounts and adaptors to suit most applications. Picture quality at 720P 30fps is in my opinion perfectly adequate when viewed for playback on computer or smartphone. At this setting the camera will record for 29 minutes (max file capacity), before you have to restart it to continue recording. Battery duration approx 90 minutes. When set to higher def, and with the display screen in use, the battery will drain faster. Associated app is useful for remote operation of camera functions using WiFi. Good value for the money
I bought this at the last minute before a trip to Australia. It was second-hand but had seen little use and still had the original packaging. A good quality 64GB memory card cost as much but was worth it. The camera is tiny and has a fixed wide angle lens so do not expect detailed close-ups of shy creatures; it is an action cam. I was impressed at how easy it was to connect with wifi to transfer to a smart phone for WhatsApp messages. The Smart DV app worked first time for me and allowed transfer without removing the waterproof case. I tested the waterproof case in a swimming pool before going the the Low Isles. It remained water-tight but there is a danger of splashes getting in when opening the case - best rinse the salt water off first. I used the 1.5 sec 3 frame burst mode for stills of fish on the reef. Accidentally, I took a video of my daughter as she waved, gave a thumbs-up (priceless) and swam off and the bubbles were clearly audible. Images were good in or out of water with the case installed. (That single video refused to run on WatsApp while all the stills were fine. However, that was just one file.) OK, this is not the premium brand but you can get stuck into your activity without worrying about damaging expensive equipment

First of all let me say this is a cheaper cam than a Gopro but almost as good.I use it for Snowboarding, Windsurfing and as a dash cam. Good points... Cheap, waterproof, not bad video footage I wouldnt say HD to be honest but for the price it's ok, It's easy to use, Loads of accessories, For a dash cam set it on loop. Bad points... In it's waterproof case sound is not that good, Photo quality is nothing to rave about, Battery life is about 45 min as a dash cam plug it into the usb for power. Check your edit softwear as this cam records in MPeg4 and not programs take in that formate. So overall it's a good deal for the price you pay.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
