So far I love it. Ill say this, its big, and fairly heavy. You know you have it in your hand or on your person. Im tall 6-0, i have big hands (palm a basketball) and I'm used to carry stuff around. so it really doesn't matter that much to me. It feels great in my hands. The rounded edges all but eliminate roughness when using the pliers. They grab great and cut great. The knives are sharp an clock in great. The saw and the scissor do as well. Scissors are heavy duty and can cut crazy stuff. The saw if great when i need a blade change. the screwdriver tip does its job along with the can opener. The flat blades work well and the awls is a handy tool. All n all i love it. I carry in my EDC bag. I also bought the Molle Sheath with the Bit Kit. This with a mini flashlight and a Ferro rod or sharpener, I'm set. Enjoy this great tool.Read full review

Would have given it 5 stars but I want more tools. 3rd Surge. 1st went walk about, 2nd thought went walk about so I immediately bought another one. Found 2nd one. Theres nothing to say best multi-tool. If your working or on a jobsite perfect except the needle-nose can't really grip bolts and turn them, but all needle noses are like that. If your going camping or personally carrying it even with the belt clip, it's a little too heavy I feel. But great Multi-Tool.

Totally Satisfied with this Leatherman Surge as it is the strongest of the Leatherman tools and it has 21 tools that allow me sufficient choices to choose from to get my projects done. If I was to go on the TV show Alone or Naked & Afraid, this tool would be a good choice! I'd take a Machete, Ferro Rod, Paracord, Snare wire and Leatherman Surge of course, along with fishing string, sleeping bag or woobie, survival shovel, bowsaw, and old fashioned outdoorsman cooking pot! (This is a secret) But the Leatherman Surge would be on the list to be able to make my snares and make mini swivels, triggering devices for my trapline, and a billion other survival items and survival ideas I have used in the past on both camping trips and my traplines. It's a no brainer! It's something you just have to have!Read full review

I have been wanting to purchase a good Leatherman multi-tool for some years now. I know a few guys that never leave the house without theirs and finally figured it was time I spent a little money on one. The Surge is definitely heavy(13 oz.) which I knew before buying, but this also translates into severe duty as well. After using for a couple weeks on various things, I can completely trust it to last a very long time. I carry it at work everyday as well as on my "day off" belt. I feel better having it and use the multiple sturdy tools for a variety of odd jobs. I would recommend the Surge to anyone who frequently cuts, pulls, and fastens things everyday. The replaceable wire cutters and versatility of the bit driver are absolutely ingenious additions compared to some of the older models. If you buy it with the premium leather sheath, you can mount it horizontal on your belt and will likely not notice it's there after a few days of carrying it. Top notch quality, durability, and functionality from a company that gets it right the first time. If you end up breaking one of these, you're consciously over-abusing it. I now feel unprepared for the day if I don't have my Leatherman Surge on my belt when I leave the house.Read full review

Initially I thought it was a bit pricey. I am impressed at the quality of this tool. Very heavy, well constructed. It also has many features as advertised. I have had other multi tools, but this far exceeds expectations. I purchased this for my son who loves it, and I may purchase a second for myself.
