Failed in 11 months
Ran perfectly for 10 months. Kept battery charged, low fuel use compared to old engine, very smooth at any speed. Checked oil, noted near clear color of oil, filled tank, ran less than 2 hours before it quit. Now it runs rough, knocks @ idle, surges @ 3000 no load, blows cubic meters of white smoke while idling. Found crankcase near empty after < 2 hours use. Sorry, picture export to ebay has failed.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Unsure of actual power level. Instructions differ from description, didn’t get style as picture shows
So firstly, the motor works, and runs/starts easily. However, the pull cord cover is a standard style, not like the one pictured, which is not a big deal, but the other issues are that the torque number listed on the description was 27ft/lbs but the owners manual shows 21ft/lbs... so that’s a pretty big discrepancy. Also, there is no wiring diagram for wiring the electric start, but it’s not too complicated to figure out.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Motor does run but

You have to balance longevity to dollars.
I'm buying my 4th motor today from this maker. They are good motor for the price good HP for the $. But they will not last you a long time I replace mine every 2 or so years the power will start dropping and its time to get a new one. Probably will go with briggs next time but for now money is tight so this is the way to go.

Duro-Max XP18HPE
I have installed my Duro-Max and have used it. It starts easily and runs smoothly with tons of power. I am very pleased with it. I used it to replace a worn out Tecumseh. The bolt pattern was a little different but the shaft was at the correct height. I will have to modify the mower hood but, It is well worth the effort.
