Useful addition to garden tools but only if you have larger hands
Works well on semi-ripe cuttings up to 25mm thick but can struggle with hardwood. A bit too large for the average female hand size especially if you have arthritis. I wear a size 9 glove and holding the secateurs directly over the spring my hand is at full stretch. A lot lighter than I expected and after two hours steady pruning I had none of my usual aches in wrist or thumb. The charging socket is covered by the red switch while in operation but isn't a waterproof seal so you couldn't use these in the rain or drop them in a puddle. There is a sliding power adjustment on the handle which I find needs to be left on full otherwise the power assist does not kick in on semi-ripe cuttings. I've used them on roses, beech, sycamore, chestnut, privet, ash, elm, hawthorn, laurel, holly and brambles. The powered cut is slow but clean and doesn't chew the bark up against the anvil. The battery life on full is good, after 2 solid hours of work it was just starting to struggle to cut. Initial charge took around 3 1/2 hours, recharges take less. They won't replace my Felco 8 secateurs but at the discounted price I paid definitely a welcome addition to my garden tools.
