Garden arch - not bad for the money

The screw holes in the top bars had been made in the wrong places so there wasn't an equal overhang on either side. This was OK because we shortened the span anyway, but if you'd have wanted it the full width, it would have looked quite stupid. If you didn't have the ability or tools to re-drill holes and make adjustments, I think you'd be a bit peeved. The uprights come in two sections but there was nothing to connect the two together - the top part just slots into the bottom. This didn't seem very secure, so we drilled our own holes and adding fixings. The description says metal, which in the loosest sense it is. It's like a coated aluminum so it doesn't have a huge amount of weight to it. It's quite easy to buckle/twist it out of shape if you're not careful. I've indicated that it's 'good quality' but I think that question is too black and white. The arch is definitely NOT bad quality, but it's not good. In my opinion, I'd say its 'ok quality'. All the above said, it's certainly not a bad purchase for the price and I am pleased with it - it looks really nice in the garden.

  • Not so strong as expected

Not as strong as expected it to be, very thin metal box section construction, poor quality paint finish will expose the metal to rust. Side panel are just slotted together with no means of securing , this is the weakest part of the design. The top is reasonably strong as the joints are bolted together. It actually looks quit good when completed, but let down by cheap materials. I'm not expecting it to see the winter out.

  • Nice looking arch, but needs instruction guide.

Looks good, but lousy picture giving no idea how to construct it. Enlarged picture of advert did help slightly - the one enclosed was blurred and muddled , so no help there. Took at least 2 1/2 hr and still some of the parts didn't match. Step by step guide would be good.

  • Looks better in the pictures.

This looks a lot better in the pictures than it is in reality, instructions are to say the best confusing, nothing written, so your left to your own devises. I can't see this surviving a winter where I live. Would I buy it again, no. The finish is okay but the materials are flimsy, I think the steel is maybe 1mm thick. Does this impart confidence when built no it doesn't, do not over tighten the nuts and machine screws as it will damage the steel.

  • Bad buy!

This is so flimsy in its manufacture and having a join half way up makes it even more unstable,The metal is so thin it wobbles when erected and the bolts squash and distort the metal when tightening the bolts, and I don’t mean over tightening either, I bought it as a frame for a climing rose for my late wife, it was so unstable I took it down and built one from solid wood. I’m sorry but there’s nothing good about this arch other than it’s look. If it was as strong as it’s looks it would be amazing.

  • Garden arch

Very poorly made it doesn't match or line up properly I will see how long it lasts very disappointed and terabl information on how to make it good job I am very good at things like that Sorry but its rubbish

  • Flimsy

Fairly accurately sized. A 2 person construction. All of the prices were present. Previous reviews mention the structure is over all quite flimsy, and that is the case. It is in place, in the garden, I will see how it fares during the winter months.

  • Looks nice but quality poor

The metal is of a thin material which makes it very flimsy the joints on the legs bend easily the curved parts don't fit correctly and therefore redrilling of holes is required. Very expensive for the quality

  • Looks good once finally work out how to put it together...

Great item, not the easiest instructions, thankfully able to enlarge and print picture on listing to work out how it goes together. It looks as though it should have 5 bars over the top but actually only 3 provided and listed in parts so the 2 ends are barless. I bought 2 of these and am pleased with them & the look Worth the money
