This opener would be easier to install on a regular garage door. Mine went onto a 12x12 door in a steel shop. No power near the door, house wifi could not penetrate the building, nothing to mount the cable tension monitor to, no wood to tack the control wires to, etc. That said I conquered all of these obstacles and the opener works great. The instructions were not quite adequate to pair with my WiFi extender, but with patience and a call to customer care it works like a champ now. Do some research though. This opener needs some help getting the door started DOWN! I solved this by only opening the door 11 feet (okay for me) leaving some weight to help start it down. Research this issue thoroughly before you buy this unit. It can be an issue with some installations. Mine would not go down when starting from the full 12-foot open position. There are accessory pusher springs that can solve the problem, or the track can be inclined slightly (not possible though in my intallation). This is not a problem if you have a high-lift-door installation to begin with. Also, just an FYI, the Security + 2.0 are not compatible with some older garage door openers and Home Link buttons in cars built before about 2014. There are solutions to work-around all these issues. But you should be aware before buying, because they all cost additional money. To be clear, my opener works great the way I installed it. Have a Pro Inspect Your Door Before Installing
This is a very fickle unit, and requires a perfectly balanced door, since the opening force is on one side, and not the middle. It also takes a LOT of hours to install. My 23 year old cable was apparently stretched, and when I went through the open and closed positions programming, on the down test, the cable came off the spool, and the door derailed. Cost me a missed day of work, and a $1200 repair. The design is elegant, makes a lot of sense, and eliminates the need for an overhead rail (and if a chain or screw, dripping grease on your car). They just somehow need to build-in more forgiving mechanisms.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Works GREAT!!
Needs a push down assist spring to start door closing. Had to order from different vender, Chamberlain should make this item available on their site. Otherwise easy to install, works great. NEEDS assist spring for closing. I have a 9x9 door opening, when door open and laying horizontal, it needs help closing. Talked with service Tech said door needs to be adjusted by professional, Door has been working great the last 43 years, no problems. Much improved garage door opener
Super easy to install and work directly from your phone, will be curious how reliable it is over the next few years, but I like it so far. The remote light is great, because it will not fail due to vibrations, the motion detection to turn on the lights works fantastic, I am not sure about all the added, safety features if any of them fail how that will affect its operation but again for initial impressions. Garage door opener.
The unit was very easy to mount but the wiring was a little unclear in the large blowup instructions. You had to use both the blowup and the owners manual. Also the blowup instructions don’t tell you that the laser sensors are required. They are. Beats a sharp stick in the eye
I replaced a ceiling mounted unit to have more space above my car lift. This is my second wall mounted unit and they are easy to install as well as very quiet even compared to the overhead Chamberlain belt drive unit I replaced. Is it a good value, well compared to repairing the roof of one of my cars (by raising it up into the overhead unit) it's a very good value. Pretty straight forward install, watched a YouTube video on installation which was very good. Only had to make a couple minor adjustments on the track. Also linked the door to the MyQ app so I can open and close using my phone and get notifications if door is opened or closed. Vastly superior to the liftmaster 8500 series. In EVERY way other then the remote which has only one button vs three. It took me several hours to set up lift master. 5 minutes on the chamberlain.
