I have bought 6 of these now (some M101 and some M100) and they do not easily accommodate the new £1 coin. The manufacturers recommend that you have to align the coin in a particular way to get it in the slot. Sometimes even this does not work though at the start. Given the ability of some of the people that will be using it this is not really a satisfactory solution anyway. The £1 slot really needs to be about half a mm longer to be certain the coin does not jam. Those meters put into use months before the new coin introduction were fine with the new coin (despite the manufacturer not claiming it will take the new coin) so the milling on the edge of the coins does elongate the slot anyway, however this is still a problem with recent new installations. I resorted to elongating the slot very slightly with a fine hacksaw blade, A solution but I should not have to "butcher" a new product like that. Otherwise the meter is of the high quality you would expect from RDL and I look forward to them giving years of service.Read full review
