Not so fantastic plastic but this metal elbow sorts it !
The standard plastic elbow is a well known failure point and will spray pencil water jets from leaky seams. The alternative metal part can be fitted in under five minutes and is an excellent option. Top tip - where the U clip goes into the plastic foot, ease out the two holes to allow easier removal of the clip in the future. Water on the elbow
This was purchased as a replacement for the original that split and sprayed water from the elbow joint. Thankfully, this must be a known problem as the new joint is metal and far more substantial than the original , inferior fitted one.
