I got this Bosch instead of the popular (and hugely expensive) Festool Rotex sander. It is advertised as having basically the same features as the Rotex, with a "turbo" mode that removes material more aggressively than the normal mode. I can confirm that the turbo setting works well. The normal setting is excellent, with a true random orbit that prevents swirl marks. The sanding attachment and port are also superb. Hooked up to my Fein shop vac, I never saw any dust in the air during use. It does, however, have its drawbacks. Number one is the turbo mode is very hard to get ahold of; it skates and hops if you don't keep a really strong, firm hand on top of it. Also, while it is super-aggressive with new paper, but I have found it quickly clogs on the outside edge: the place where most of the work is done due to higher rotational speed. This is not uncommon with disc sanders, but it seems really pronounced with the lower grits (40/60) I have been using on old floors. Thus I am going through paper much faster than I would expect, as you can only clean the discs a couple of times before they become tattered. On the whole, it's a good value versus the Rotex, but comes with caveats.Read full review

Bought brand new, for acurate detailed work no way way off ballance motor grinds some, good for the guy who does stripping or just grinds away material like old paint. Sander is cheaply made with overseas parts a make believe festool.

Like most all Bosch power tools, this is a professional duty product. I am just a restoration hobbyist but the time this saves over a smaller less powerful model is worth far more than the extra initial cost. It is pretty much the equal of an air powered DA sander without requiring a huge compressor to run. A hell of a lot quieter, too!

I like it better than my Festool 125 FEQ Rotex Sander. It has a lot of power and the balance is great. The price is right $249.00 compared to $490.00 and is about equal in performance. I beat this sander to death and she just keep rolling along. She‘s Sweet!!!!

I own two of the Bosch 1250DEVS sanders. These sanders do an amazing dual purpose job. They can remove material fast with the agressive mode, and also do a good job of putting a smooth surface on your wood ready for finish. As with all of these type of sanders, it will kick up a great deal of dust, so a small vacuum hose attached to your shop vac will greatly reduce this problem. Also, some sort of dust mask is a must when using this machine.
when it comes to power when ii is in turbo it is a f@king lion it wipes of the lines of the routing bit with ease but if you have not strong shoulders prepare your self for some exercise!! if you don't hold it tight it will jump around!! very good tool but If I would buy again I will make a stop to festool to see how the rotex 150 goes! just to see how it is!

A little too large to be used one-handed like you can with smaller sanders, but that wasn't to be expected anyways. This sander is powerful and gets the job done quicker than any sander I have ever used.

This is the third one I have purchased. I'm very hard on these sanders and they hold up very well. Best unit for the money. Would recommend.

Amazing piece of machinery. It’s not a Festool, but it’s definitely not the Makita. Used it lightly, but ready to use it more in the summer.
