Used model railways & collections always wanted. Depth with twin Microswitch = 66mm. The two outer holes are used to attach mounting studs beneath the baseboard. The larger centre hole is where the drive pin of the motor is positioned and threaded through the tie bar of the turnout.
Definitely an improvement over the PL-10, if costly
I've been installing the older Peco PL-10 point motors since the 70s so I'm used to them in their various guises (original, extended pin, low power etc.). I've used them mostly with N gauge trackwork, I found over the years that I got on better using the black slide switches rather than the twin microswitches for adding auxiliary change over switching for frogs and point position indication.
I decided to buy an example of the Twist-Lock motor and microswitch just to be aware of it as an option. I've only had a chance to perform a quick installation test under a Peco TT:120 point, but it does indeed seem to allow for easier marking out and installation using the supplied template.
The microswitch unit for the Twist-Lock seems to cope better than the old microswitch arrangement when used with the limited tiebar throw of small TT & N gauge points.
I'm not sure why Peco haven't bound together the common coil wires to create a 3-wire connection instead of 4-wires to deal with? I can think of no scenario where you'd need to have the coils totally separately powered.
Overall I'd say the Twist-Lock is an improvement over the PL-10, but works out more expensive and as I'm used to working with the old motors I'll probably continue with them when I have several points to motorise.
