The book was very well written as I have previously read the all three in the Emperor's Assassin's series , I was looking forward to the story continuing, where Silas would or do next. I was not disappointed, the mission Silas is sent on deep in to German territory seems a one way mission. I won't spoil it but it was excellent leaves you wanting to know more. I am a fan of Roman historical writers. I would say Alex Gough is up there with the best writers of this genre. He is perhaps even better than Simon Scarrow who's last book in the Eagles of the Empire series was absolutely awful. I look forward to more adventures for Silas.
