Good price with lots of features

Overpriced and a faff overall.
I think it's a bit of a faff using it and from all I've read not all the results are entirely accurate. I do think if you record everything each time you use it you can then compare with previous results but as to how accurate the result would be on it's own I'm not so sure. I use it for two people which makes it more of a faff as you have to remember to press the corresponding person using it and even if only one person I believe it doesn't record results unless the button is pressed. I also found that although you can step off the scale and still record the results just taken if you then use it for someone else or switch off you cant then go back and check results. I don't know if this is how it works, or a fault with my machine. It would be far better if you could run back through previous results, although I do record them separately so less of a problem. Good scales
Weight appears accurate (identical to the ones in my doctor's surgery, which presumably are regularly calibrated). The body fat is more of a guideline (based on electrical impedance) and will vary on much water etc. you've drank and probably very inaccurate for very athletic and body builder types, but overall a good set of scales for the money.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Beware of using these scales on carpet!
I used my previous scales in my bedroom which is carpeted. They gave accurate results on the carpet and gave the same results on the hard floor in the bathroom. I have now tried two of these OMRON scales and both read about 20% low (2 stone in my case) in my bedroom but I tested the second one and it gave correct readings in the bathroom. There is no warning that I have seen not to use these scales on carpet. So be aware they wont work on carpet.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Surprisingly accurate
Before purchasing this I did some online research about fat composition scanners in general (all household scales rely on bioelectrical impedance) and the overall consensus was that this method of measuring fat composition is not very accurate, especially when compared to professional methods such as DXA scans and hydrostatic weighing, so I was pretty sceptical when my wife wanted to purchase one of these. However, I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised by the results, I took part in a study a few years ago which involved undergoing a DXA scan and the results I got from these scales was within a couple of percent of my DXA results. That being said there is no guarantee that will be the case for everyone. Please also remember that the reading you get from this device will vary throughout the day depending on your level of hydration and how moist your skin is. However, if you are going to get one I would strongly recommend you get one like this, where the signal travels between your hands and feet. People store fat in different areas (apple shape, pear shape etc) and scanners that send a signal between feet and hands will be better able to cope with people of all shapes and sizes.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

The truth will change you for the better
If you want to know the truth this will tell you. It tells you you fat, visceral fat and bmi. I've used this now for 2 weeks and at first I didn't trust it but after vigorous test and working out how to use it its great. Firstly you must use it on a hard flat surface. Secondly you must understand how your body works. Ie if you use it in the morning your fat reading in going to be higher than the eve cos of body storage over night while you rest. It really is that accurate. I'm 13 in the morning and 8.4 in the eve + if I train hard in eve it has gone down to 5.2 body fat. Anyway I don't want to go on and on but understanding how your body works will help you with the understanding of the readings. Bmi is a bit out but in a body builder so that's not a prob. Basic body stats monitor
Seems to produce accurate results for the readings it takes. However it is limited in the range of readings, i.e. does not cover bone mass, muscle mass etc. But good value for what it does.
