This disc is a "two-fer" of two albums Mingus recorded in 1963 for the Impulse label."The Black Saint & The Sinner Lady" is an Ellingtonian suite comprising of six movements and "Mingus,Mingus,Mingus,Mingus,Mingus" contains retitled older tunes of Mingus reworked with a larger ensemble than on previous albums,The quality of the music and musicians is first class throughout.Highly recommended.
