On first use of this item it looked to be a good old fashioned wooden implement - I won't call it by its true name as the spell checker thinks I'm swearing ! It has apparently a nice finely honed straight front edge the scours the pan well when stir-frying or moving food around as it fries. But here's the rub, whether it's the wrong kind of beech wood or improperly kiln-dried the the spatula warps as soon as it's been got hot in any pan of cooking liquid. The front face then curls into a curve and i had hoped when it dried out after washing it would return to the original straight leading edge but sadly it has remained resolutely warped in a curve. This quality one never met in High Street kitchen shops so I think it has come from a dubious source and so I can't recommend it for using to manipulate hot food. It's of little more effective use than a salad stirrer.Read full review
