You get what you pay for, please produce a heavier more expensive pair of tongs in the same design.
In a nut shell, what did I expect for £5! Great design, however very flimsy. I've known of heavier duty tongs of the same size and style but just made from thicker steel. They are OK for moving small coals, but don't expect to move a log without the tongs bending. The tongs are fine for a fiver, but if there were a stronger/heavier pair of tongs it would be worth paying the extra. If anyone knows of such, please let me know.

Tongs for coal fire
Sir, I have the unfortunate job of saying the tongs supplied were of the lowest possible the tongs weren't touching together, the middle part on the x was so flimsy and where the rivit was, very loose, these tongs were of the lowest quality you could buy, I'm very tempted to send them to trading standards, they are not fit for purpose, especially for a oap with atheritus
