Our mains wired door bell went wrong so rather than attempt to rewire a new one, the cable having snapped off in the door frame, bought this one. The unit is mains charged by plugging in to an ordinary 13amp socket but you do not lose the use of the socket as there is one on the face of the unit, which in our case supplies the table lamp. in the hall. The bell has a standard AA battery installed which sends a signal to the chime unit. Had it a good number of months now and have not needed to change the battery. 15 of the 16 chimes are really annoying so we just use the basic "bing bong" one. Be warned though, if you have a power cut or switch off the chime unit at the socket it will revert to the first chime which is dire. Easy enough to change back to what you want though using a button on the side which scrolls through the options. Very good value, easy peasy to set up.Read full review

More like 8 chimes, plug is solid although the safety lead pin of other plugs won't fit into the through plug due to badly moulded plastic, that's fine as it's not needed, bell ringer end is flimsy plastic and pushing the button does not always make contact to ring, have had to put a "push bell hard" sign beside my door. Completely what I expected for the price although if your looking something more durable I would go elsewhere

Very good doorbell and good price. Quite loud so is easy to hear. Has got a lot of different sounds even a Christmas one. Unit plugs into socket and has a plug socket on it so you don't lose a socket. Highly recommended.

Excellent product. Many tunes available and we have chosen Silent Night for the Christmas period and after that we will choose the normal bing bong. Bell push very easy to install with screws which we used or just a sticky pad. Just plug in the unit and that's it. Great.

Great product at a great price
I bought one to replace a much more expensive wireless bell that came from a big name DiY store and died just after the warranty ran out. This was a third of the price, took about 5 minutes to set up (the hardest bit was getting it out of the packaging!) and works perfectly. I'm hard of hearing and the chimes are nice and loud for me.

The right finger on the button
Very simple to get up and running. I did however have to adjust the 'jumpers' to avoid my next door neighbours bell operating when someone pressed ours and vice versa. Good to also be able to use the one electrical socket for both bell unit and other components at the same time.

Came quickly, looks the part, bell push made of very thin lightweight plastic and has no rubber seal like its predecessor. Good and loud but no way of controlling the volume and some of the available chimes go on for far too long. All these are manufacturer led issues and nothing to do with the efficiency of the seller who I would highly recommend
