This 1987 Polydor CD issue of "Axis : Bold As Love" is truer to the original vinyl album than the later reissues, which is why I bought it. I had the Experience Hendrix / MCA remaster but it wasn't that good and certainly didn't sound like the LP I remembered.
As far as the album content goes there's not one duff track on it, and I much prefer it to "Are You Experienced". Each track here is a bona fide Hendrix classic, including "Spanish Castle Magic", "Castles Made Of Sand", "Little Wing", and the heavy-duty "If Six Was Nine", which also appeared on the soundtrack of "Easy Rider".
Jimi will forever be the ultimate guitar hero.
