Mounting bolts do not fit into front pull casting.
Bought this to replace same model which was worn on our front door. When I tried to screw the two mounting bolts which clamp the front pull casting to to the door I found the M6 bolts would only go in three turns before jamming. The same occurred if I used the bolts from the old lock into the new pull. Both sets of bolts would go 14 turns into the old front door pull. Fortunately I had a metric screw tap set, so I was able to tun an M6 tap down the socket in the new casting and then rest of fitting went smoothly. Works fine now. I also noted that the castings are different in other ways. The tolerances seem slacker and the lever on the main lock (attached to the back of the door) is thinner and ribbed on the underside, unlike the the thicker and more comfortable lever on the old lock. But these are minor issues, but the challenge with the mounting bolts was not minor.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good security lock, but take note if replacing an earlier model.
This is a good security lock. I bought it to replace an earlier version of the same type of lock. The old one had worn, but was fitted over 20 years ago. If fitting to a new door the operation is quite straight forward, but if replacing an older model please note the following:- There are slight differences between the two versions, and anyone planning to do a similar replacement should note that the striking plate is quite different in shape. The new lock will not operate with the old striking plate, so the door frame needs to be altered. Fairly easy if the frame is painted, but a hardwood frame will need to have a new piece of timber inserted, stained and varnished etc.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Check key…
This is the 2nd lock of its kind I have bought within a year. The key snapped in the 1st and I couldn’t get it out without dismantling the lock,… of course it didn’t go back together. The 1st set had a couple of really deep cuts in the notches to make up the combination. This deep notch was the weak part of the key…. The 2nd lock came with keys with a much less exaggerated pattern of notches, therefore much stronger. If you can, check the key pattern 1st before buying to avoid a similar situation.
