The author's final large novel with no excluded topics.
The book itself appears almost new and in great condition. The author is top notch and has written many novels which have been made into movies. Characters are well established with interesting story lines. Main disappointment is turning to the last page.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Funny/Sad….with ghosts.
John Irvings longest and, to me, one of his best novels. It's a biography of a family of mostly women who don't like men very much, but I love them all. It's not a sexy book, but there's lots of matter of fact, egalitarian, sex-talk. This book covers a lot of territory including the US political landscape of the "60's and 70's, and 80's" but it's too personal to be a history book. It's a John Irving novel.
