As the sibling console of the Neo Geo AES, the Neo Geo CD video game system provides the same quality 16-bit graphics while utilizing a CD-ROM storage medium. By using a 1x CD-ROM drive, this video game system increased potential game size. The Neo Geo CD console has a display resolution of 320x224 pixels and is capable of displaying 380 sprites on screen at any given moment. The Neo Geo CD console uses a six-button controller configuration (consisting of four letter buttons, a start button, and a select button) with an analog stick. Furthermore, the console possesses two controller ports to allow for multiplayer gameplay. This Neo Geo CD has a black casing and uses the NTSC-J standard, which allows it to play most Japanese and American game releases without any additional configuration or accessories. While the Neo Geo CD is often forgotten, this notable piece of gaming history will complement a console collector or retro gamer's collection.

Great way to get into authentic neo geo world
Anyone wanting to get into the neo geo world and not have to deal with very expensive carts , here’s the way to do it . Yes, you will have loading times. But, for same games that are easily able to be found plus better music, I think it’s totally worth it. I looked at the AES and MVS and while there is a certain allure to those , I’m very happy with the CD. Anyone that grew up around the 286-386 with single cd rom speeds, load times will not bother you
