You cant buy this sound brand new for this price.
The pre-amp is in excellent condition, as described. It sounds really good with my Linn LP12/Ecosse/Klyde and my sons Linn Basic/Akito/K9. You cant buy this sound quality brand new for this price. It sounds good with both the Linn LK280 and the Linn Klout power amps feeding my Focal 926's. This system is very live sounding and makes you want to listen to more and more musical performances. Superb pre amp when used with the right equipment
Excellent build and sound quality . Needs to be used with good quality amps and speakers to get the best out of it.(A chain is only as good as the weakest link). I have had mine for over 20 years. The only repair that has been required in all that time is the replacement of the back up battery. It is stll going strong. Faultless performance. Wonderful sounding, beautifully functioning piece...Given that it was produced before the day of flat panels...it is very, very,susceptible to IR interference and lock up....(N.B. Quick fix, place a piece of black vinyl electrical tape over IR receiver of the Kairn....problem gone!) 1995 Amp sounds better than 2017 Supernait
I had a home demo of a new Naim Supernait in an attempt to get my B&W In Wall speakers to sing. Excellent as it was, I didn't feel the Naim was worth the £3,100 price tag and opted instead for a 1995 Linn Kairn + Lk140 from eBay which together came to £935. I was expecting similar performance to the Naim but the Linn combination sounded far better with a wonderfully natural unforced sound. Linn Does it Again
This pre amp is simply stunning. I linked it with an LK85 power amp and it creates the most sublime music. Bass is very evident and powerful, but never flabby or over blown.
