This bounce flash was originally designed for use with a wide range of Yashica and Contax SLR cameras. On hot shoe-equipped SLRs such as the Yashica FX-D and Contax 139 Quartz, the Yashica CS-220 flash supports automatic operation, including setting the shutter speed and displaying a flash-ready indicator in the camera's viewfinder. Although intended as a flash for Contax and Yashica SLRs, this bounce flash works in manual mode with a wide range of cameras, including digital models from Panasonic, Fujifilm and other manufacturers and supports lenses down to 35 mm. Additionally, the Yashica CS-220 also features a flash head, which is capable of tilting up to 90 degrees to a vertical position. This Yashica flash for Contax is a compact alternative to many external flashes, measuring just 5 inches in height and weighing 5.8 oz, without batteries installed. The Yashica CS-220 is powered by four AA batteries, making it inexpensive to operate and allows the user to keep the weight of their whole camera set down.
