Genuine parts save time because they fit properly.
Lots of cheaper cables around which may not be an exact fit. The Focus handbrake cable is tricky and awkward to fit so, knowing that this genuine part will fit exactly as Ford designed it, avoids the risk of wasting time and effort trying to fit a cable which is not exactly to spec. Adjusts and works perfectly.
