Very sharp but does a good job of keeping my wife's fingers away from the blade, unlike a normal knife which is dangerous in her hands.

Tbh although this is very sharp, I don’t love using it The blade is too long for dip in my chopping board and whilst folding handles covering blade is a good idea, the handles are very unstable unless you hold both pushing towards blade. I have sliced my finger already when I let go of one side and handle swung towards blade. Because there was chopped garlic on blade I did not want handle to close over blade, getting garlic stuck inside handle. Grabbing handle, I missed and grabbed blade. Not usual j & j well thought out design despite cutting through everything from nuts to herbs and garlic

The mezzaluna feels awkward to use as the handles, which fold for storage, seem very loose and wobble about when in use. That said, they are fixed securely, it's just the style of the mezzaluna. The thing I like is that the handles fold over the blade (which is extremely sharp) when not in use, so it can be stored away in my cutlery drawer.

The handles are not steady enough for me when using the chopper so unfortunately it was a dissapointment . But that being said it is of good quality.

Very sharp so needs the blade to be covered, and the handle fording to form a blade cover is a good idea to fit it in the knife draw.
