Great lens
This is not a light weight lens but it's great quality and feels solid. It's pretty sharp wide open at F2.8 in the corners and better in the centre, and even better at F4 or 5.6. I'd be happy shooting wide open if I had to, and the fast aperture helps in low light. It comes with a lens hood but it's worth noting it doesn't have full time manual focusing, turn the focus ring in autofocus mode and you could damage the motor. You must switch to manual focus before using the manual focus ring. The lens is designed for crop sensor cameras and isn't compatable with full frame. It also focuses fairly close but not as close as the Sigma 17-70mm (which is crazy close focus) but thats not a fixed 2.8. All in all a great lens for the money.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great performing lens af works great including the Optical Stabililation.
Great performing lens especially in low light with a constant f-2.8 no-matter the zoon length. The af works great along with the Optical Stabilization that can be either on or off. I also like the lock button that keeps the lens from slipping out of focus and is very helpful with astro-photography. The lens feels weighty and of high quality with a nice pro feel and look to it. The zoom is quite firm and a bit stiff and tends to jerk somewhat when zooming in and out, hopefully it will loosen off with use. Images are nice and sharp and there is some barrel distortion but overall its not noticeable on most images. I would have given 5 stars except for the stiff zoon ring.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Another great lens from Sigma!
This is a superb 'go to' lens for general street (and landscape) photography. As I have an APS-C (crop sensor) camera I was not getting on with my 16-35mm Canon 'L' lens (which is intended for full size sensors cameras). I feared that the Sigma would not match up to the Canon's image quality but I could not have been more wrong as the Sigma produces excellent results time and again. Only a small 'con' is that the lens is somewhat subject to lens 'creep' and has no lock to prevent it. I'm very happy with it!!Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Good replacement for your kit lens
Good upgrade for your kit lens. With it's fast f2.8 aperture you get good quality images even in lower light condition. The images are very sharp. This is my go to lense. On the downside it's a lot heavier than your standard kit lense and when you shake it, something rattles inside like it's been broken but that's perfectly normal.
