About this product

Product Information

Turn to Konica Minolta if you enjoy taking extreme close-up photos in nature, such as insects or flowers. The Maxxum AF 28-135mm f/4-4.5 autofocus lens works on Minolta and Sony cameras and features a macro switch that allows you to get sharp images of subjects that are just 9.6 inches from the image plane. The aperture contains seven blades and the angle of view is 75 to 18 degrees for full frames. In addition, 72 mm filters can be loaded on the lens. The maximum magnification is normally 0.09x, or 0.25x when the macro switch is used, and the minimum f-stop is f/27.

I went from alpha mount a77mk11 to an a7 mirrorless full frame, as new oss lens prices are to say on the high side :) I tried the LA-EA4 sony autofocus adapter with some full frame lenses. Result was acceptable, so I got a 28-135mm lens to cover the don't need oss zone and a sigma 70-300mm OS lens for the rest of the range. I would recommend these lenses to any new a7 user to avoid the mammoth cost of the new EF lenses. Autofocus is good with the 28-135mm and macro (0.25x, but think greater due to adapter increased spacing) is manual focus anyway, with the focus ring at the back of the lens in easy reach.

  • Good solid lens

Sharp all through the range 28-135mm. good colour rendition. Some people might find the weight a problem. (personally I like it) Macro setting is manual focus, again I like that.

  • A very good lens!

Performs as well as the reviews indicated it would. I'm delighted with the results. The only drawback is that it weighs quite a lot (which I knew before I bought it, of course, so this is not unrxpected.)
