Weighing just 0.9 lbs (0.4 kg) but sturdy enough to support up to 10 lbs (4.5 kg) of camera equipment, the Velbon UP-400 monopod represents a fast, portable solution to photography needs in the field. Among the�features of this Velbon monopod are the flip-type leg locks, which allow this lightweight monopod to be deployed almost instantly while providing a secure, rigid platform. The four-section telescopic legs of this lightweight monopod extend to a maximum height of 63 inches (160 cm), but for convenient carrying and storage the Velbon UP-400 monopod can fold down to as little as 20 inches (50.8 cm). The diameter of the upper leg section of the monopod is 1.1 inches (27 mm), and it is covered with an insulating foam grip to allow comfortable handling in freezing weather. There is also a strap for convenient carrying, and the last section of the Velbon monopod is tipped with a rubber foot and a spike to ensure a secure grip on any surface. The Velbon UP-400 monopod is completed by a fixed head, which has a standard 1/4-inch (6.2-mm) thread.
